Inky Hands Print Studio and Gallery

‘Wild Wildflowers’

Silk Screen stations will be set up for attendees to have a go at screen printing their own wildflower compositions. An array of wildflower illustrations and colors will be provided and each participant will experiment with the provided artwork to create a unique screen print where they have “collaged” the artwork to make their print.  This workshop covers the ideas of monoprint, silk screen, composition and color theory.   No experience necessary.

5/3/24 The Art Shoppe will be offering refreshments. Participate in a free demo/take and make creative project. Jessie will teach people how to make "paper beads" and use them to make shabby chic paper bead book marks-- while supplies last!

5/3/24: The PCA will be “Strummin’ into Spring” with the Cape Cod Ukulele Club, Artist Chris Mindle will be painting for the public and popular potter Roger Honey will do a demo at 6:30pm. The exciting, juried show, Fine Art of Photography will be on our walls. Our membership committee will be there for May Membership Madness and gifts! Wine/light refreshments will be offered.

6/7/24: The PCA is very excited to host author Stephen Sayers to talk about and have a signing of his book, “100 Things to do in Plymouth, MA Before You Die”. First Fridays Plymouth and multiple FFP venues are featured. He is author of several books based in Plymouth and the Cape. Guitarist/vocalist Sherry Malone will be filling the Center with song, a fan favorite.  Final days of the juried Fine Art of Photography show along with wine/light refreshments.

7/5/24: A unique juried exhibit of art and advocacy,” The Horseshoe Crab Against All Odds” will be featured. Our talented “Volunteers Only” show will be hung.  Come experience origami artist, Andrea Plate and listen to talented pianist Erik Lindgren---all “By the Beautiful Sea”.  Wine/light refreshments.

8/2/24: First Fridays Plymouth is featuring North Street on this evening and the PCA is happy to again have the Celtic Circle fill our Center with music.  Painter Margaret Rosenbaum will be outside painting her visions of North Street in celebration of “North Street in Plein Air”.  Our members’ show, “Rhythms” will be on display and enjoy complementary wine/light refreshments.

9/6/24:  The PCA is featuring some “Classy Talent” with violinist Angelica Vendetti and pianist Diana Barnes. Demos will be done by PCA instructors, potter Roger Honey (6:30) and watercolorist Tony Visco--you don’t want to miss them.  Members’ exhibit “Expressions” will be showing, and wine/light refreshments will be offered.

10/4/24: PCA’s very popular Annual Juried Art Show will be exhibiting and view this great show to the music of Just 2 Guys, a town favorite. Talented artist/PCA instructor Doro Simone will be painting in our gallery. Wine/light refreshments will be served.  Come join us as we wrap up our FFP season.

The Hedge House will not be open this year for First Fridays, but theirThe Plymouth Antiquarian Society is proud to participate in First Fridays Plymouth, an initiative highlighting arts and culture in the Plymouth Bay Cultural District. On the first Friday of every month (May through October) from 5 to 8 PM, the Hedge House Museum will be open for free mini tours.

Entry into this special opening will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the small size of the rooms, visitors may be asked to wait outside until space is available for them to enter. Event may be cancelled due to stormy weather or extreme heat.

Pilgrims Progress

Mayflower Society House

"On August 2nd, The Pilgrim Progress will be participating in First Fridays Plymouth. They will begin their traditional August walk through town in costumes reenacting the Pilgrims as they went to church. They will start from the Mayflower Society House on Winslow/North Street at 6pm, walking past Plymouth Rock, up Lyden Street to the Meeting House and Burial Hill for a service of readings and hymns. They will then walk down Main Street and North Street returning to the Mayflower Society. It is about a 45 minute event.  Be sure to make your way to that part of town to catch this reenactment of history."
